Asked NCSoft for official word about using translator, and its atm perfectly legit Translating the speech across factions is acceptable at this time as long as it is not used to harass any player or group of players is what I was told, so don't worry about using it and enjoy.
You can also use the translator to translate what enemy says to you even if they dont use any translator tool.
Just type what they said into the text box and select the check box of the opposite side and click on Translate button.
It wont always give precise translation but it will be pretty understandable.
For Example. if you are asmodian and meet elyos who says "fni", type "fni" into the text box select the "I am elyos" check box and
trnslate, output will be "lol", which is what the elyos said.
